[Effective Measures to Prevent Scarring]

In daily life, it is inevitable to get injured, and the skin may darken after an injury.  If the wound becomes repeatedly inflamed, it can result in noticeable scars.  Here are effective measures to prevent scarring:

  • Properly treat the wound and avoid bacterial infections, which are the most important factors.
  • After the wound has healed, pay attention to sun protection.  The newly formed skin is very delicate, and without sun protection, it is prone to melanin deposition.
  • Drink plenty of water and reduce consumption of coffee, strong tea, and alcohol, which can cause dehydration.  Dehydration can stimulate fibroblast cells in the underlying dermis to produce collagen, leading to scar formation.
  • Maintain a balanced diet and consume sufficient energy, protein, vitamins, and minerals to enhance the body's recovery ability and reduce the risk of wound infection.
